About

One founder. One niche. One operational playbook.

Patina Digital is a one-person agency based in Brighton. It’s run by me, Archie — I build the websites, run the ads, do the SEO, write the reports, and hold the accounts. The retainers are priced accordingly: you get senior-level attention on every piece of work, not an account manager sitting in front of a junior team.

The reason the agency only works with independent bespoke kitchen studios isn’t a branding decision. It’s an operational one. Running the same playbook across a narrow industry means every keyword bank, every ad-group structure, every landing-page template, every negative keyword list, every content angle is reusable and refined on each successive client. Specialists deliver materially better work than generalists because the second client benefits from everything learned on the first.

Patina Digital is a specialist agency for bespoke kitchen studios on the UK South Coast. Based in Brighton, currently working with studios between Brighton and Bournemouth. We’ll expand geographically as our capacity does — deliberately, not opportunistically. The current patch is where I know market conditions street by street (Chichester has Tom Howley; Sandbanks has coastal new-builds; Brighton has Regency townhouses and a dense field of regional independents competing on craft) and where I can visit workshops in person without losing a day to travel.

The standards we ship every engagement to — the website build specification, the SEO approach, the Google Ads setup, the reporting cadence — are documented and held consistent across clients. That rigour is the reason retainers compound over time into a stable, growing pipeline. Not memory, not good intentions, not hero work on weekends. A high standard, codified and executed.

What we believe

Six principles we won’t negotiate on.

These are the commitments we make to every client and the filters we apply to every prospect. If any of them sound wrong to you, we’re probably not a match \u2014 and that’s useful to know now.

  1. 01

One niche, one agency per town.

We only work with independent bespoke kitchen studios. And within that niche, we take one studio per town. The first makes us better every year because we get compounding improvements on a reusable playbook; the second means no client ever wakes up to find we’ve signed their direct competitor down the road.

  2. 02

Photography is eighty percent of the outcome.

If your photography is iPhone-grade, the site will read iPhone-grade regardless of the design work. Your quoted prices will stop feeling earned. We’ll say so on the first call — sometimes recommending that you wait a quarter to commission a proper shoot before we start — because a beautifully-designed site on top of weak photos is worse than no new site at all.

  3. 03

Tracking from day one, or not at all.

Half-built tracking is worse than none. Every engagement starts with GA4, Google Tag Manager, call tracking with dynamic number insertion, Microsoft Clarity, and offline conversion import wired in before the first ad spend. Smart Bidding can’t optimise for outcomes it can’t see, and neither can we.

  4. 04

    Honest timelines, priced accordingly.

SEO produces measurable lift in months three to five and meaningful commercial impact in months five to nine. Google Ads needs six weeks of data before Smart Bidding can optimise properly. Our minimum terms match those timelines. Anyone promising faster is either working on keywords you already rank for, or telling you what you want to hear.

  5. 05

    You own everything.

The domain stays in your name. The Webflow account is transferable. The Ads and Analytics accounts are yours. You can take the site elsewhere at any time. We don’t build on proprietary platforms, we don’t write hostage contracts, and we don’t take commission on ad spend.

  6. 06

Reports written to the pipeline, not the traffic.

Sessions and keyword rankings are interesting but not commercial. Every monthly report leads with qualified enquiries, consultation bookings, and pipeline value attributable to the work. A report that says “we drove 14 qualified consultations = ~£125,000 in pipeline” is what you’re paying for. A report that says “we drove 180 visitors” isn’t.

How we work together

The working rhythm, once the build is done.

Daily
Slack or WhatsApp for quick questions. Responses within the same working day during UK core hours (9am–5pm). Urgent issues flagged clearly get same-hour response.
Weekly
A short async update — video or written — with what was done and what’s next. No meetings unless something warrants one.
Monthly
A formal report and a 45-minute strategy call with the founder or marketing lead. Report is PDF plus a live Looker Studio dashboard you can check any time.
Quarterly
A 90-minute business review with the principal, not delegated. Reviewing strategy against outcomes, planning the next quarter.
Annually
A renewal conversation 60 days before contract end, framed as planning the next twelve months — not “sign again”.
